Hey teacher friends! I feel like that's what the majority of you are, or you wouldn't be reading my piece of the world wide web. 

As you know, I was moved by the grace of my GOD into Kindergarten SPED in November. I say this, in that way, because the Lord truly knew what was best for me in every.single.way.

I was starting my Masters Degree program in January and it just so happened that I was studying Special Education. After these 6 months that I have had in the SPED classroom, I definitely know that right now in my heart, I need to be back in the Gen. Ed classroom.

I know that one day I want to go back and be with my SPED babies but not right now in my life. Everytime you are around or see a SPED teacher, give them a hug. People do not realize how much time/paperwork/effort goes into IEPs, documentation, accommodations and such goes into this job.

Please do not get me wrong. I believe every single baby of mine and in this world deserve the best teaching and teacher that they can get. I am just itching to get back in the gen. ed. classroom and hopefully have some inclusion babies in my room. 

Truly, I don't know what the future holds but I know who holds the future.

a step in another direction.

So, remember the last post and me mentioning that I was being moved to Kindergarten Special Education. Well, I've been there for a little over 2 months and I'm really starting to fill my place. I love my babies that I get to work with and I am starting to see some progress that we have made with them. That excited me more than ever because let's face it, Special Needs children have my heart in the palm of their hands. 

Plus, I have an awesome assistant. She is hilarious, wonderful with our babies and most of all, she has my back! She has, since day one, helped me out with anything that I couldn't figure out and I couldn't respect her more for that. I'm sure she was just as nervous as I was about starting over with a new co-worker but we have become friends and I'm very thankful for that!


Now on to the good stuff: When I got moved of course I had a million questions in my mind about what plan God had in this. {I'm the girl that knows that nothing happens unless God has a plan in it.} Insert NOW- I know that God moved me to show me some things in my education career. See-- it just so happened that I was starting my Master's Degree Coursework in January and I am now on a completely new path. I realized that my heart will always be captured by Special Needs Children but at this stage in my life, I need to be in a regular Education classroom. 
Now, please don't get me wrong! I'm working hard for these babies in my care and protection right now and will love on and teach them to the best of my ability. They are precious babies!

I just know that God has big plans for my future and I'm so glad that he allowed this switch to happen so that I could know his will. He is a good, good God and I know that he will bless my endeavors no matter where I end up.

Changes, changes Everywhere.

Hey Friends!

I haven't posted on here in so long and I felt like this teaching blog needed an update. Well, since the last time I logged in or blogged, I've been moved to the Kindergarten Hall as the Special Education Teacher.

I really love my new job but it is stressful having to learn all over again and find my place in where I belong. My teaching friends are wonderful and were very welcoming. For that, I will always be thankful.

I still find this ironic because I have always talked about how I would freak if I was moved at the end of the year to a different grade, much less in the middle of the year.

I found this quote a couple of weeks before I was moved and for some reason it just touched me. Ironic? Absolutely not. My GOD Reigns!

I got to decorate the classroom in Christmas decor because I moved the week after Thanksgiving Break and it was too fun! I loved cute little corners and organized, might I add. That doesn't happen very often...

Santa came for a visit and on pajama day at that. 

I miss my Firsties but I see them often and get great big hugs. :) My Kindergarten SPED babies are precious and I like getting to see how this department in Education works. 

I start Grad school this month and I'm hoping that will help me understand the paperwork and process a little more too.

pray that I will become the Special Education teacher that I need to become and that I can touch these babies lives in ways that no one else can.

Just some things I've learned so far.

It's my 2nd year of teaching little brains. HOLY COW!

I have a wonderful class this year who challenge me everyday. I think I am prepared and WAM, they knock me off my feet.

I'm yelling one minute and the next being hugged and told that I am the best teacher and they don't want to leave school. Oh, they have a lot to learn.

Flattering?  yes! truth, I beg to differ.

I've learned that this is so much the truth. I get some sweet drawing, a cookie, candy, something almost daily and it does my heart good. God says give, no matter what the amount! 

I've learned that kids can get sick at any time of the day. Especially early in the morning when they want their mama, but at 12:00 recess- they are going full blast. Yeah, such as it is. 

I've learned that patience IS a virtue and I have it 95% of the time. Example, today it was tested and a silent lunch ensued but the rest of our day was tolerable! :)

I've learned that parents either care or they don't. I have some wonderful parents this year and it makes me happy to know that they are helping me, help their child. 

I've learned that being organized helps me be a more effective teacher. I'm perfecting this a day at a time. 

I've learned that pinterest is a teacher's best friend.

So, this proves that my job is held up to a high standard in many different ways. I'm doing the best that I can everyday! 

Can't wait to see what the rest of my year teaches me!
